Everton have reportedly made contact with Manchester United over Sergio Romero only to learn the Red Devils are not interested in loaning out the Argentina international.
The Toffees are also believed to have made contact over Paulo Gazzaniga at Tottenham in their quest to find a goalkeeper who will challenge Jordan Pickford between the posts.

“Everton made contact over Sergio Romero [Man Utd] and/or Paulo Gazzaniga [Tottenham] as they look to bring in a goalkeeper to challenge Jordan Pickford. Everton prefer a loan move, but United and Spurs want permanent deals. Southampton confident on deal for Theo Walcott.”
Romero has been a good goalkeeper for United, a fantastic second choice option but I have never been under the impression he was knocking on David de Gea’s door. Not even when the Spaniard struggled last season. That would have been a good time for Romero to question Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s selection but instead he was happy being second choice (until the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea).
I think he would prove to be a better option for Carlo Ancelotti to have than Pickford, but I am saying that without seeing him perform consistently in the Premier League because he has always been second choice.
At least Dean Henderson will challenge De Gea.
