Manchester United won’t give in to Borussia Dortmund’s high demands for Sancho

There has been a lot written about Jadon Sancho this summer. In the past 24 hours reports in Germany claimed Manchester United made a £90m bid for the Borussia Dortmund winger.

Sky Sports in Germany reported that this offer was rejected by the Bundesliga club, who allegedly reiterated that Sancho won’t be leaving this summer. A stance they’ve kept running in the media since at least August 10.

This saga has been called Sancho Poker in Germany and it’s certainly a fitting description considering how many figures are doing the rounds.

Sancho is Dortmund’s most prized asset and they don’t want to pass on the opportunity to make maximum profit, even though the entire market has been hit by the global pandemic. They could wait another year to do that and try win the Bundesliga this season, although I don’t believe they are as reluctant to lose Sancho as they let on.

Stretty News understands that nothing has changed on the Sancho front bar some discussions between the two clubs. More importantly, a gap in valuation remains.

Manchester United still deem Dortmund’s asking price for the player unrealistic in the current market.

According to David McDonnell of The Mirror, Sky’s report suggesting United made a formal offer for Sancho is untrue.

Sancho is currently out of action for Dortmund. The winger is reportedly ill, as per Jan Aage Fjortoft, who later added that no bid has been made.

So, it sounds like claims from Germany are far-fetched.
