McManaman wants Premier League return for Bale, amid Man United claims

Former Real Madrid midfielder Steve McManaman believes a return to the Premier League would help Gareth Bale get his career back on track.

It’s been a difficult few years for Bale — despite successful — because he has found first team minutes hard to come by.

From the outside it looks like there could be issues with Zinedine Zidane, though Bale has never kicked up a fuss about wanting a transfer out of Madrid.

Few see his situation at the club getting any better.

McManaman thinks Bale should come back to England and play regular football.

“I think Gareth Bale could play in the Premier League and get back to his highest level. I certainly hope so,” McManaman said on ‘Football Talks’ with FIFA Legends, as quoted by Spanish publication Marca.

“I know he’s 31 years of age. Of course he’s had a number of injuries but I don’t think he’s played a lot of football in recent years so he should be fit and strong.

“The most important thing for Gareth is to play football and if he’s not going to do that at Real Madrid then I think he should try somewhere else.”

Sky Sports claim Manchester United could consider a loan move for Bale if the club’s Jadon Sancho pursuit fails.

The report adds that the Wales international is willing to join the Red Devils on loan or permanently if a deal can be agreed with the La Liga champions.
