Carlos Tevez has named seven Manchester United team-mates in his dream XI.
The Argentine spent two years at Old Trafford and won two Premier League titles and the Champions League. That was before he controversially moved to Manchester City after rejecting a five-year contract at United.
He’s had a remarkable career in the game, playing for Juventus, earning 76 caps for his country, and is now doing well for himself at boyhood club Boca Juniors, after winning the Primera Division.
When asked to reveal his dream team, Tevez snubbed all of his City team-mates and instead picked a number of former United players, as well as Paul Pogba, who he played with at Juve.
“If I retired and had to put together a farewell match, my team would be: Gianluigi Buffon, Hugo Ibarra, Rio Ferdinand, Gabriel Heinze, Patrice Evra; Paul Scholes, Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba; Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney. I’d stay on the bench,” Tevez told Radio La Red.
City fans will probably argue about Tevez not including Vincent Kompany, David Silva or Sergio Aguero, but they should be able to reason with his choices – bar Heinze, maybe.
Not that I reasoned with his decision to join City.
