Manchester United Women could have their name on the Women’s FA Cup trophy for the first time as they take on Tottenham in the final at 2:30pm on Sunday.
The men’s side already have another date at Wembley booked in for the end of the month, but Marc Skinner is also leading his side to the national stadium after losing the final against Chelsea a year ago.
This season’s objective is to go one better and win some silverware at Wembley.
United knocked out Chelsea in the last-four, and now go into the final as favourites for their first FA Cup success for the showpiece event.
Jayde Riviere returned from injury over the weekend, playing the final 30 minutes on her return to action. United don’t have fresh injury concerns but long-term absentees include Gabby George, Emma Watson and Jess Simpson. They will be all gutted to miss out on the special occasion at Wembley as United look to make history.
Spurs have never previously made it to this stage. It will be a new experience for them and it’s up to Skinner’s side to take advantage of that. Our opponents needed penalties against Man City in the last-eight, and extra-time to edge past Leicester City in the semi-finals.
They are sixth in the WSL table, seven points behind United above them, but they do have a game in hand to look forward to.
The final will be broadcast live on BBC One, with coverage beginning at 1:50pm ahead of a 2:30pm kick-off. It will also be streamed live on the BBC iPlayer.
