Senior United man sent home from international camp requiring scans on injury concern

Harry Maguire has had to depart England camp prematurely due to an apparent injury concern.

The Manchester United defender started and played 67 minutes for his nation as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Brazil on Saturday evening. It was just a friendly, although their forthcoming fixtures leading up to the summer are crucial in their preparation for the Euros.

Maguire had only just returned to action for the Reds after a three-game absence. His last start came against Fulham on February 24 before he made his comeback off the bench in a 49-minute cameo at home to Liverpool during last week’s FA Cup triumph.

Maguire ruled out of second England clash

Now, The Sun reports that the 31-year-old has left the Three Lions squad after being made to go for a scan, which evidently flagged an issue and led to him being ruled out of Tuesday’s clash with Belgium.

It comes amid a campaign of a seemingly never-ending, debilitating injury crisis for Erik ten Hag. He could be without Maguire for next Saturday’s trip to face Brentford, so will be relying on Lisandro Martinez making his long-awaited return to the fold.
