Mason Greenwood wants Jude Bellingham investigation dropped

Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood has ‘asked’ for the investigation into Jude Bellingham to be ‘dropped’, according to reports.

Greenwood, who is on loan at Getafe, clashed with Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham for the first time in La Liga last month.

Bellingham tackled Greenwood and TV cameras caught him saying something to his fellow countryman.

Although the audio was not picked up from the videos that did the rounds, Bellingham was accused of calling Greenwood a ‘r*pist’ which led to the case being referred to Spain’s football federation.

The worst case scenario for Bellingham would be a ban, however, The Sun claim Greenwood wants the investigation dropped. A source told the newspaper: “Mason has told them he doesn’t want Jude to be punished and has asked them to drop it.

“He doesn’t want bad publicity and wants to get on with playing football.

“He was very upset at the time as he didn’t expect it from someone like Jude. But he knows he’s always likely to be a target for that kind of stuff so he’s accepted he’ll need a thick skin.”

Greenwood must face up to reality by realising ‘bad publicity’ is going to follow him wherever he goes.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently told reporters that United will make a fresh decision over Greenwood’s future in the coming months.
