(Video) ESPN FC pundits back Pogba for Man Utd captaincy

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still has to announce his new club captain for next season.

Antonio Valencia will leave the club when his contract expires this summer meaning the captaincy role will be vacant.

However, a lot of Manchester United are in agreement that the current team lacks leaders. It has none whatsoever.

Solskjaer has a tough call to make – leaders make a difference, even if there is a debate about whether captains matter anymore.

The good ones do!

Anyhow, ESPN FC’s Steve Nicol believes the armband could convince Pogba to stay at Old Trafford.

But if that’s the sole reason for him staying, it doesn’t really sound like he’s captain material.

United need players happy to be at the club and willing to fight for the shirt.

Pogba doesn’t do that and I think it would be a mistake to give him the armband next season.
