Manchester United have confirmed that 19-year-old goalkeeper Will Murdock has joined Hednesford Town on a youth loan until 5 January, giving the academy product an opportunity to gain senior minutes.
The move follows Murdock signing a new contract with the Reds. It marks a first senior loan experience for the goalkeeper after his progression through several levels of United’s academy.

According to The Peoples Person, Manchester United’s official website confirmed that Murdock had sealed a youth loan move to Hednesford Town until 5 January following his new contract with the Reds.
Hednesford, known as the Pitmen, play in the National League North. The loan provides Murdock with an opportunity to experience football away from United’s academy environment and pursue senior minutes.
How Murdock got here
Murdock played a key role in United’s run to the semi-final of the 2025 FA Youth Cup, where they lost to Aston Villa. He later lost his place in the Youth Cup side to Cameron Byrne-Hughes, but has continued progressing at Manchester United and has played for the Under-21s.
So far this season, Murdock has made one Under-21 appearance: the 4-1 win over Leicester City at the end of last month. He has also represented Northern Ireland at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level.
