Manchester United have learned Juventus’s reported valuation of Jonathan David, with the 26-year-old available for between $41 million and $46 million if the right conditions are met.
That’s according to Hooligan Soccer, which reports that United’s recruitment team have received the David proposal through agent channels and intermediaries but have yet to take a concrete step toward securing the Canadian.

David managed 8 goals and 5 assists across all competitions in his first season in Serie A, a modest return after averaging more than 21 goals a season during his previous five years at Lille. Juventus are said to be respecting his adaptation period rather than moving to sell in a panic, but the report states they will consider any reasonable offer arriving from the Premier League.
Crucially, David’s own preference reportedly leans strongly toward a return to England, and he is said to be willing to find common ground on personal terms with any interested club. That should, in theory, make life easier for whoever moves first – assuming they actually want to.
Not a priority for Carrick
United’s technical staff are said to be weighing up whether David fits the striker profile Michael Carrick wants and whether he could adapt into the current system. The presence of other names higher up Carrick’s list, according to Hooligan Soccer, means the Red Devils currently view David as a secondary option rather than an urgent target.
United are said to be reviewing multiple dossiers as they finalise their attacking plans for the upcoming season, with David currently viewed as one of the options under consideration.
Aston Villa are described as the frontrunners in the race, with Unai Emery reportedly viewing David as a fit for his system. Arsenal’s position could be influenced by Gabriel Jesus’s status, with the report suggesting a departure for the forward and an unsuccessful move for Vitor Roque could create an opening in attack. United, by contrast, are said to be in no rush as they continue to assess their attacking options.
Whether that cautious stance changes will likely depend on how United’s own striker situation develops before the market moves elsewhere.
