Reports in Turkey suggest Manchester United are close to finalising a deal for Victor Osimhen, who remains a Galatasaray player until the end of the season.
The on-loan frontman has faced a hugely uncertain future over the last year due to how his fiery Napoli exit panned out; after clashing heads with Antonio Conte, he was stripped of his number and removed from the side’s Serie A squad list before the season began, leaving him little to no time to agree a deal with a suitor before the transfer deadline.
When a move to Al Ahli collapsed in the final stages, Osimhen signed for Galatasaray with no buy option included in the terms. As such, he now has only two months remaining in Turkey before he’ll have to return to Napoli and hold some pretty crucial talks over his next steps.
The latest on United’s Osimhen interest

Osimhen has long been linked with an Old Trafford switch over the years, primarily because he poses as a direct solution to their flagrant goalscoring woes.
The Nigerian international boasts a stunning 143 career goals in 257 appearances, including 29 goals – and a further six assists – in only 34 appearances this term. Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim’s primary No.9, Rasmus Hojlund, has found the back of the net just eight times in 45 games.
Alas, it’d come as no surprise if United were actually hot in pursuit of Osimhen, and that’s certainly what recent speculation would have you believe.
Turkish journalist Aygun Ozipek claims the 26-year-old has agreed a five-year deal with the Red Devils for a fee of £51 million, with the player said to have negotiated a salary worth £12.8m a year.
Another Istanbul-based reporter, Ahmet Konanc, simply stated on X/Twitter: “Osimhen signs with Manchester United”.
Victor is a proven striker who can handle himself at anytime. He proved himself at German league, French leguea, Italian and Turks leagueas, he is ideal striker UTD need to redeem our position in the league next season.
Or will he be another Wesley Sneijder always coming but never arriving
Osimhen would be a class addition (and long overdue) to United.
He should be able to give United 5+ years of good service, something that United have lacked since the days of Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke (and they had Solskjaer and Sheringham as back ups!)
Delap would also be a good addition, although that depends on the view of Hojlund (? loan him out for a year or two?) and Chido Obi Martin (is he ready to be a back up centre forward, bearing in mind that Osimhen could be missing for 6-8 weeks with the Africa Cup of Nations)
Osimhen is a huge upgrade to Hojlund
Obi can learn from him
I want the club to sell or loan Hojlund to serie A and swap Rashford for Watkins or buy Cunha
