Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho was sent off as his side clashed with Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Mourinho was left furious after referee Clement Turpin ignored a penalty shout as the Fenerbahce bench erupted.

Mindful of tomorrow’s newspaper headlines, Mourinho took centre stage after leaving his technical area.

Osayi-Samuel went down in the box following minimal contact from Manuel Ugarte. There wasn’t enough of contact to warrant a penalty, but Mourinho lost his cool regardless of that.

Mourinho argued his case to fourth official Jeremy Stinat, who was clearly unhappy with Mourinho’s theatrics.

Turpin addressed the situation by showing Mourinho a red card for foul and abusive language, as per The Mirror.

As a result, Mourinho has been forced to watch the rest of the match from the stands.

More on Mourinho’s red card in our post-match analysis. We’re sure there will be a quote or two on the incident and whether the Fenerbahce boss feels hard done by.

Mr. Centre of Attention himself. It was no surprise that he got in on the act after receiving enough encouragement from the Fenerbahce bench and fans.

Instead of cooling the situation, Mourinho added fuel to the fire.

United fans know all about those tactics from his time at Old Trafford.

Tonight he was sent off against his former club and I’m sure he is sat in the stands trying to think of something witty to say about it in his post-match press conference, granted he doesn’t storm out in a strop.
