Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte is available for Manchester United’s meeting with Brentford in the Premier League.

The Premier League meeting takes place today at 3pm and it’s an opportunity to get back to winning ways, with Erik ten Hag under enormous pressure to keep his job at Old Trafford.

United had fears about Ugarte after he was absent from training on Thursday. The midfielder took a recovery session having just returned from international duty with Uruguay.

The Uruguayan came off early during a World Cup qualifier against Ecuador, which kicked off in the early hours of Wednesday morning before he flew back to England to prepare to face Brentford.

Fabrizio Romano has quoted Erik ten Hag from Friday’s pre-match press conference after he told journalists that Ugarte is fit and available for selection.

“Manuel Ugarte has recovered and he will be available to face Brentford,” Ten Hag told MEN’s Samuel Luckhurst when asked about Ugarte’s fitness ahead of the tie.

More is expected of Manuel Ugarte

This is an important update ahead of the Brentford game because it means Ugarte has a chance to start, even though he found himself benched in recent matches.

Ugarte hasn’t hit the ground running at Old Trafford but neither have any of our new signings because the team, as a whole, is struggling to win matches. It is unfair to pin that on any one player when we’re creating chances but not putting them away.

It comes as a time Ten Hag had to be the bearer of bad news with confirmation of an injury to Kobbie Mainoo, which will keep the midfield starlet out of action for a few weeks.

Ten Hag has other issues in midfield as Mason Mount still recovers from a knock.

One thing is certain at Old Trafford. There’s no getting away from injuries.
