Erik ten Hag remains at Manchester United but the pressure on him is enormous. The only way to turn it around is by winning football matches and it needs to start this weekend against Brentford in the Premier League.

By doing that, United must put an end to successive 3-0 home league defeats that comes from a five-match winless streak in all competitions. The sort of record no manager wants to be going into a game with, but Ten Hag has bounced back from difficult spells before and come out on top. INEOS are still backing him to turn things around and we hope – for the good of United – he does.

Looking to sniff out United early on, Brentford have yet to win away from home this season, which bodes well for Ten Hag’s side. It will be the first time the two teams meet since March when they played out a 1-1 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium, where Mason Mount’s 96th-minute strike was cancelled out dramatically by a 99th-minute Kristoffer Ajer equaliser. Brentford hold a stronger position in the Premier League (11th) than us (14th) but, like I said, the only way to turn things around is by winning football matches. They have came out of the traps quickly this season, having scored the opening goal inside the first 80 seconds in each of their last four matches.

The Bees failed to beat league champions Man City, Tottenham or West Ham when going ahead in three of those four matches. They beat Wolves 5-3 in the other.

From what we can gather from those statistics is that Brentford can attack well, but their defence is to be got at. Let’s hope United can take their chances on Saturday.

Frank’s side have picked up all 10 of their Premier League points on home soil and they’re three points behind the top four. This shows how close the table remains, so it would be a good time for United to address their many issues on the pitch.

One player United need to keep an eye on. is Byran Mbeumo, who is ranked top ten in the league for goals, big chances created and expected assists.

Since the 7-0 win over Barnsley in the EFL Cup back in mid-September, United have failed to win any of their matches across all competitions. Frank will be trying to take advantage of that, so Ten Hag’s side would be naïve to underestimate them.

Brentford have only won one of their last 10 matches against United in all competitions.

Prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Brentford
