Since drawing the curtains on an illustrious playing career for good in June 2023, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has held an advisory role with former club AC Milan.
The ex-Manchester United forward returned to the San Siro six months after hanging up his boots after being appointed by club owners RedBird Capital to act as an operating partner for the American investment firm.
Now, according to MilanLive, he is hoping to use his ties to bring former teammate and compatriot Victor Lindelof to the Serie A giants. The pair played together at club level during Ibrahimovic’s short-lived United tenure while also taking to the field on numerous occasions for their native Sweden.

Sunday’s stalemate at Villa Park saw the Sweden captain, who takes home a reported £120,000 per week, make his first outing of the campaign when brought off the bench to replace Harry Maguire for the second half. Prior to that, he did make a one-minute cameo in the FA Cup final win over Manchester City in May but had missed the last month of the 2023/2024 term due to a hamstring complaint.
Lindelof, 30, is out of contract at Old Trafford in the summer, and you wouldn’t expect to see his terms extended – especially given how he’s struggled with injuries over the past year. The board will, however, be unwilling to see him leave for nothing, so with Ibrahimovic said to be adamant about sanctioning the centre-half’s arrival ‘at all costs’, a mid-season deal may best suit all parties.
