Two Reds train after injury scares, one ruled out: United team news for midweek Porto trip

Manchester United are undergoing their final preparations ahead of tomorrow’s European clash with FC Porto.

Two away fixtures await Erik ten Hag and his men this week; after Thursday’s Europa League tie, they travel to the West Midlands to take on an in-form Aston Villa in their return to Premier League action.

In terms of the players you can expect to see available, the manager will give definitive updates during his pre-Porto press conference. However, journalists in attendance at Carrington this morning have also been able to provide some welcome insight into the squad.

United’s team news for Porto trip

Kobbie Mainoo is fit and in training following his early substitution in the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. It looked as though he’d signalled it was a hamstring issue as he walked down the tunnel for treatment, but has been spotted alongside fellow youngsters Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho in Wednesday’s session.

Elsewhere, Harry Maguire is expected to be available for selection, having missed out vs Spurs through a knock. Mason Mount is likely to be ruled out, though, after sustaining a nasty collision to the head; Laurie Whitwell notes that his absence won’t be due to concussion protocols.

  1. Has to be 2 wins against Porto and Villa, otherwise Ten Hag should be gone. No more excuses from him or Ineos.
We need and want the very best here and Ten Hag is out of his depth.
Allegri or Tuchel should be our manager going forward. We just have to get this club back on track and it’s what INEOS has promised.
