Manchester City have equalled Manchester United’s record for the longest unbeaten run in Champions League history.
The Reds have held the record for 16 years which was set when Sir Alex Ferguson’s side went 25 matches unbeaten from September 2007 and May 2009.
The run consisted of 20 wins and five draws, one of which was their 2008 final success against Chelsea.
However, United’s run came to an end when they were defeated 2-0 by Barcelona in the 2009 final.
City won their match against Slovan Bratislava 4-0 on Tuesday night. It means they now boast an unbeaten record in their last 25 games (W17 D8) having not lost a game since May 2022.
According to TNT Sports, this equals United’s record for the longest unbeaten run in the competition.
City’s next Champions League match is at home to Sparta Praha.
