Report: Ratcliffe sets bold Ten Hag deadline to save his job

Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the stands

Manchester United minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly set a deadline for Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag to turn his side’s form around and improve results on the pitch.

It has been a poor start to the season for Manchester United who only have seven points out of 15 available.

The Red Devils have looked promising at times with an impressive 3-0 at Saint Mary’s vs Southampton but that was not without defensive concerns in the opening 25 minutes.

Ten Hag’s side looked more dominant last time out in the Premier League when they faced Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last weekend.

However, despite several chances being created, the Red Devils could not break the deadlock and had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

The former Ajax boss’ side also had to settle for a 1-1 draw in their opening Europa League fixture against FC Twente at Old Trafford midweek.

The 56-year-old coach will be hoping his side can set the tone for the coming fixtures when they face Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe sets Ten Hag Christmas deadline to save his Old Trafford career

Pressure has started to mount on the United boss after a poor start to the season.

Ratcliffe has reportedly started to demand an improvement on the pitch with a deadline reportedly set for the Dutch coach to improve results.

Football Insider journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that Ratcliffe has given Ten Hag until Christmas to save his job.

Speaking on Ten Hag’s future O’Rourke said:  “Man United are expected to sack Erik ten Hag “by Christmas” if he does not oversee a big turnaround in the team’s fortunes

“Should United find themselves slipping away from the top-four race at Christmas, a decision will have to be made.

“Sources also say the decision-makers at Old Trafford are keen to give him time, having handed him a new contract in the summer.”

    1. David are you sick, tenhag is not even fit to coach in the English 3 Rd. Tier, united are an right royal joke of an disaster under tenhag, ask why Liverpool, man.city and arsenal hope Tenhag stays

  1. So much nonsense written about Utd. Yoro injured, DeL, Zirkzee and Ugarte hadn’t played prior to joining, Hojlund injured, yet team in top 3 for chances created, hardly ETH’s fault the guys aren’t scoring. ETH is tops at bringinging young ones through and is rebuilding the club from bottom up, creating strong foundations for an exciting future.

    1. You must be a dreamer, what nonsense team building is Erik ten Had doing? This is his 3rd season in man utd yet no football identity. He’s a clown who needs to be chased out ASAP.

    2. Oh please Gary, even if Messi, mbappe and the best world eleven joins united now, they will look silly under tenhag, Ronaldo was right about Tenhag all along , he is useless, he won’t be able to coach Liverpool’s women’s soccer team

  2. Just fire 10haag,he is arrogant and delusional. The team will be at the bottom of the league this season if no action is taken now.
Hope Eric Ten Haag had watched the game today Chelsea vs Brighton and Everton vs Crystal Palace?

    1. Sir Jim Ratcliffe should do what he and his group should have done from inception , bring in a new manager with the same ethos and belief in the club. Release Ten Hag , the man lacks confidence, he is devoid in tactical awareness , no wonder he surrounds himself with former players .

      1. AFTER YOU OF COURSE , tell me do you remember where united finished in the lg the first 3 seasons sir alex was in charge or was your mummy still changing your shitty nappies, ten hag took over a shambles of a football club rotten from the top were player power ruled the roost, there is still rot in the club all as not been cleared new players have come into the club , they have to be allowed time to settle in, but clowns like you want everything to happen overnight , ten hag has guided united to 2 trophies in his first 2 seasons thats 2 trophies more than sir alex managed in his first 2 seasons, get off the managers back and support him or better still go support another club,

        1. Totally agree with you. I am finally seeing some good signs despite the lack of goals at times. Let’s see where we are come Xmas and make a decision then!

        2. Man grow up , football change in every decade don’t bring here your fuckin nonsense and generation of so called Ferguson yeah I do respect Fergie but this is a different century we can’t be singing a song season in season out ,I understand your point but also in the rotten batch of so called United lacks a manager man .

  3. I think Ten Hag is the right man for united. But the prayers have no heart for the club.
Bruno isn’t fit to captain our club. We need a person with a calm mind.

  4. 10hag will never improve United. In the spurs game they never rili were going to score. leave alone the red card. the first half Manu was out ran by spurs. 10hag is a bad coach even some players will wilt. Did u see Ganarcho, Bruno and Rashford. We Need new energy.
