Manchester United sent goalkeeper Radek Vitek on loan to Austria during the summer with the view of gaining first-team experience.
The young stopper is expected to be fit within the next month after fears he had suffered a serious knee injury.
Highly rated at United, the 20-year-old impressively started pre-season with the Reds before securing a loan move to Austrian Bundesliga outfit Blau-Weiss Linz, keeping two clean sheets in his first three games.
Vitek had to drop out of the squad to face SCR Altach last Sunday after suffering what was initially feared to be a cruciate and medial ligament knee injury.
This would have been a major setback for Vitek’s development because he will plenty of games if he can stay fit.
However, Vitek may only be out for a few weeks, as per the Manchester Evening News.
Any long spell in the treatment room could have ended up with Vitek returning to United, but instead, he stayed in Austria and should be back in the team soon.
Vitek will aim to become United’s first-choice keeper one day, but he needs to prove himself elsewhere to get that opportunity.
