‘Real tough job’ – Postecoglou praises Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United work

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has offered his verdict on the situation at Old Trafford and has praised underfire Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag.

After a poor start to the season speculation in the media on Erik ten Hag’s job has returned.

The Red Devils have only secured seven points from an available 15 in the Premier League.

Ten Hag’s side were also unable to win their opening Europa League fixture after a 1-1 draw with Dutch side FC Twente at Old Trafford midweek.

The former Ajax boss will be hoping his side can secure a much-needed win against Tottenham Hotspur when Postecoglou’s side visit Old Trafford this Sunday.

With tough fixtures of Porto and Aston Villa in the coming weeks, the Red Devils boss will hope his side can set the tine in the coming home fixture.

Ange Postecoglou backs Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag

The Tottenham Boss Ange Postecoglou has offered his praise and support to Erik ten Hag.

Speaking in his Press conference via ESPN ahead of the clash at Old Trafford against the Red Devils the former Celtic boss said:  “I mean there’s always some manager under pressure.

“I think there must be a sort of — what do they call one of those spinning boards with all our faces on it and whatever it lands on, he’s the one that cops it for a week or two.

“But I think Erik’s in a real tough job. He’s done really well.

“He keeps mentioning he’s won two trophies and he has, so I don’t think that’s insignificant. Everyone keeps telling me that’s all I have to do, but obviously it’s not all you have to do because when you do that then there’s more, there’s always more.

“So I think he’s done a great job and like I said, a difficult job and at Old Trafford, it’s tough there.”
