Manchester United waiting on ratification to complete deal for prolific youth striker

Man United are confident of signing Arsenal starlet Chido Obi Martin.

There is excitement about the signing of prolific youth striker Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal and the youngster’s move is being considered a significant coup by those who pay close attention to youth football in England.

That means it’s a major blow for Arsenal to be losing such a talented star from their academy. Like United, they hope to develop players for the first team, but Obi-Martin felt the grass would be greener elsewhere during the summer when he decided to turn down advances from the Gunners.

Obi-Martin feels his career progression would be better at United and turned down offers from Germany, as per Sky Sports.

An agreement with United was struck in July but a deal has yet to be confirmed. That means Obi-Martin hasn’t been able to train with the club or feature in any youth games since the beginning of the season.

A new report from the Manchester Evening News claims a source said United are still waiting on ratification for Obi-Martin.

You would think that with the deal agreed in July, Obi-Martin will be confirmed sooner rather than later.

The Denmark youth international famously scored 10 goals in a single game for Arsenal U16s vs Liverpool in November.
