Manchester United are seemingly drawing up plans to pursue Luke Shaw’s long-term successor, with the defender enduring yet another season sidelined with injury woes.

Already, the Red Devils are said to have established their interest in Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, having initially been linked with the 20-year-old at the beginning of the summer.

Fabrizio Romano had confirmed that United were admirers of the player but made it clear that the Cherries would make any potential deal incredibly difficult for clubs, as they are unwilling to part ways with their talent this early on in his tenure.

Now, while still scouring the market for left-back options, Alphonso Davies has emerged as a surprise name on the reported shortlist of INEOS chiefs, according to GiveMeSport.

He claims that the club are on red alert due to his Bayern Munich contract expiring in 2025. However, the world-class Canadian, 23, has long been linked with a move to reigning European champions Real Madrid, and rebuffing the prospect of a Santiago Bernabeu move may prove too hard to decline.

Davies has undoubtedly been one of the best in the world since breaking onto the scene in 2019. After signing for the Bundesliga giants from Vancouver Whitecaps, he quickly cemented his place in the XI under each manager and has enjoyed success in almost every season – even becoming a continental treble-winner in 2020. He boasts a remarkable 200 Bayern appearances thus far, scoring 11 times and assisting 32 goals in the process.
