Forgotten Manchester United star return to training confirmed

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has received a boost for his squad after Victor Lindelof has returned to training.

Manchester United invested heavily in defensive reinforcements this summer with the arrivals of Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro.

The new footballing structure was keen to avoid a repeat of the injury crisis at centre-back that Ten Hag suffered last season.

Yoro is currently sidelined through an injury he aggravated in pre-season against Arsenal.

De Ligt is hoping to build on his impressive start after a man-of-the-match performance against Southampton last weekend.

Ten Hag has previously liked to use centre-back substitutions in the Premier League with Harry Magurie and Jonny Evans often making an appearance off the bench.

In the coming weeks, Ten Hag will be pleased that another defender will be available for the hectic schedule.

Victor Lindelof returns to Manchester United first-team training.

Manchester United star Victor Lindelof has been spotted in first-team training after the club confirmed his return on the official Manchester United website.

The statement read: “Victor Lindelof has resumed training with the Manchester United squad.

“The Sweden captain has been absent after suffering a toe problem.

“After missing the first part of our pre-season campaign, he did play on the US tour but was withdrawn at half-time of the game against Liverpool in South Carolina.

“Erik ten Hag will be buoyed by the reliable defender’s potential return with the fixtures starting to come thick and fast, at home and abroad, for United.”
