Manchester United considered a move for Fermin Lopez from Barcelona during the summer.

The news emerged this morning – courtesy of Football Espana – with claims that United and Tottenham enquired about “possible conditions” of a move for the talented 21-year-old attacker.

Lopez can play on either flank but his preference is the number 8 role.

No deals materialised and Lopez remained at Barcelona because it is understood that the player wants to continue his career in Catalonia and become an instrumental first-team member.

Missing out on a deal for Lopez isn’t something to dwell over, though. United have an incredibly talented midfielder who has risen into the first team from the academy in Kobbie Mainoo.

There are plenty of fish in the season and United have already been linked with Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze as a potential option next summer.
