Manchester United have had multiple injury headaches under Erik ten Hag. It was the biggest reason behind our struggles last season and there has been several players ruled out since the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign.
The medical department has been changed as a result.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United want to employ a first-team physiotherapist to ‘deliver world-class physiotherapy care and rehabilitation services’ to its players.
The club have launched a job advert, with the job description as follows: “The first-team physiotherapist will develop and deliver world-class physiotherapy care and rehabilitation services to Manchester United’s first-team players. This role involves service provision at the Carrington Training Complex, and potentially home and away games, as required.”
Injuries were one of the key talking points during the end-of-season review, weeks after United won the FA Cup, and it’s something we need to try to avoid this term.
United have six doubts going into Saturday’s game against Southampton.
United hired Gary O’Driscoll from Arsenal as head of sports medicine in September. Since then we’ve seen Robin Sadler, the previous head physio, leave the club. He was replaced by Jordan Reece who followed O’Driscoll from the Emirates.
However, Sadler wasn’t the only physio to leave United. Long-serving members of staff Richard Merron and John Davin departed during the summer.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team in charge of football operations are making lots of changes at the club. We hope to see the desired results in the coming years.
