Manchester United have confirmed the squad for Saturday’s legends match against Celtic.
The eagerly awaited legends match takes place at Old Trafford, with Michael Carrick, Nicky Butt, Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes and Dimitar Berbatov among those returning to the pitch.
It will be a fantastic occasion for fans to see some of the great players from yesteryear, who represented the club and were idolised by the fans.
I was asked recently by the Manchester United Foundation which of the legends was my favourite. You can hear the exchange below as well as the thoughts of fellow Reds.
Manchester United squad list
Goalkeepers: Anders Lindegaard, Raimond van der Gouw, Kevin Pilkington
Defenders: Antonio Valencia, Danny Simpson, Phil Bardsley, Mikael Silvestre, Ronny Johnsen, Danny Pugh
Midfielders: Darren Fletcher, Paul Scholes, Karel Poborsky, Nicky Butt, Eric Djemba-Djemba, Michael Carrick, Chris Eagles, Luke Chadwick
Forwards: Fraizer Campbell, Danny Webber, Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov
Rooney is by far the biggest pull factor because it’s the first time he has been announced to feature in such a fixture. We are sure it will be the first of many since he is the club’s all-time record scorer.
