‘Expected to…’: Romano shares what he’s now hearing about Casemiro after Liverpool loss

Since overseeing something of a disaster class in the first 45 minutes of last Sunday’s defeat to Liverpool, Casemiro has found himself linked with a move away from Manchester United.

It’s been evident for some time now that the Brazilian’s stalwart is well past his peak, and barring a relatively successful first season, United certainly acquired him on the decline.

Assuming he stays at Old Trafford, Casemiro is poised to see his role reduced from a constant starter to a rotational player. Manuel Ugarte had not been registered in time to face Liverpool, but there are hopes he’ll make the matchday squad when the side travel to Southampton on September 14.

There is reportedly one option on the table should Casemiro decide to embark on a new venture, though; Galatasaray are said to be targeting the 32-year-old on a one-year loan deal before Turkey’s window shuts in eight days.

Numerous reports linking him to the Super Lig outfit have circulated this week, with some coming from reputable outlets such as ESPN and The Times.

Casemiro favours Old Trafford stay

Yet, he’s planning to rebuff such interest in favour of seeing out the campaign with the Red Devils. He is contracted to the club until 2027, so it remains to be seen what INEOS chiefs are planning for him next summer.

Fabrizio Romano shared today that Casemiro is now ‘expected to stay at Man United until at least 2025’.
