Erik ten Hag receives slap on wrist over style of play from Manchester United chiefs

The pressure is mounting on Erik ten Hag again.

Manchester United are just three games into the season and reports are circulating on whether Ten Hag is running out of time at Old Trafford.

Forgive me for thinking that after winning two trophies in his first season, a lot of the criticism may be warranted but the way it’s being delivered is harsh.

According to The Guardian, Ten Hag’s game model has to start impressing United’s football department or he is in danger of being sacked.

United’s football department is overseen by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and led by Dan Ashworth, the sporting director, and Jason Wilcox, the technical director.

The manager’s style of play so far this season is viewed as underwhelming, which I think most fans will agree with…

United have won just one of their first three matches. That goes down as a disappointing start to the season, with few signs that results will improve after finishing eighth in the league last term.

Things may need to change and results must improve. Ten Hag knows this already. It won’t come as news to him.

This will give the media plenty to write about during the international break. Sadly, it means more negativity for us…
