‘He couldn’t kick a ball’ – Paul Scholes names Manchester United’s worst-ever signing

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has revealed who he believes is Manchester United’s worst-ever signing.

This summer Ineos will hope that they have made a strong start to the Mnahcetsr United overhaul and will be hoping they can separate themselves from the previous errors in the transfer market post-Sir Alex Ferguson.

Since Ferguson left in 2013 there have been several big-name signings that have flopped with the likes of Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Alexis Sanchez,  and the recent purchase of Antony for £85 million.

However, the former Manchester United star has stated that there was one player who signed during his time at the club that he could not believe was playing at Old Trafford.

Paul Scholes believes Mark Bosnich is Manchester United’s worst-ever signing

Scholes appeared on the YouTube channel The Overlap in a transfer special with Jamie Carragher and David Ornstein.

Speaking on who he believes is the worst-ever signing to arrive at Old Trafford teh former Premier League champion suggested former goalkeeper Mark Bosnich.

“I go back to the goalkeepers, when you had to try and replace Peter Schmeichel, which is always going to be difficult.

“We had a few. I was thinking [Massimo] Taibi, Mark Bosnich.

“I thought he was a good keeper at Villa, Mark Bosnich. He came to us, he was so unprofessional. Honestly, it was ridiculous. In shooting practice, you normally have like 15, 20 shots. After three shots, he’s knackered. ‘Oh no, get someone else in’.

“I never realised, he couldn’t kick a football. I’ve never seen anything like it. We played Everton away, first game of the season, and none of us picked up on it, he couldn’t reach the halfway line.

“There was no wind, it was a perfect day. But when you look at his feet, size 14s, honestly he was just kicking the floor all the time! Disappointing.”
