From Turkey: United have just entered talks with Galatasaray over a one-year loan for Casemiro

Manchester United are reportedly locked in negotiations with Galatasaray to try and hash out a deal for Casemiro.

While some may see the news as a knee-jerk reaction to the midfielder’s disaster-class vs Liverpool, reports all throughout the summer had suggested United wanted to offload Casemiro before deadline day.

Turkish clubs have another 10 days to get any transfers over the line – hence Victor Osimhen’s recent loan to Galatasaray after he was omitted from Napoli’s squad.

Nonetheless, it’s journalist Ali Naci Kucuk who has tonight broken the news of Casmeiro’s potential departure from Old Trafford. The Brazilian has started each of United’s three Premier League matches thus far but is expected to lose his place as a starter to new recruit Manuel Ugarte when club action resumes.

Even besides his shoddy showings over the past year, one factor that will undoubtedly go against the 32-year-old is that he is the Reds’ highest earner, pocketing a jaw-dropping £350,000 per week. You’d hope that any loan agreement sees his new suitor cover part of his salary.
