Manchester United vs Liverpool Player Ratings: A lacklustre performance in 3-0 defeat

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will be disappointed with his side’s performance in the 3-0 defeat against Liverpool at Old Trafford. 

Liverpool went into the half-time break with a comfortable 2-0 lead thanks to two goals from Colombian forward Luis Diaz.

Mohamed Salah extended the score to 3-0 to secure a statement win for Arne Slot in his first derby in the Premier League.

4 – Onanana could have done better to prevent a couple of the goals that Liverpool scored.

Noussair Mazraoui

6 – He was comfortable on the ball but he was out of position for the first goal.

Matthijs de Ligt

6 -Initially solid in the first half but was caught out on a couple of occasions.

Lisandro Martinez

6- Martinez was combative and comfortable on the ball but was rash at times.

Diogo Dalot

6- competitive and tried to be a danger in attack but was caught out for the third Liverpool goal.

Casemiro

3-  Poor performance with several sloppy passes leading to Liverpool’s first-half goals with a swift exit at halftime.

5- Struggled to get into the action and create chances for the side.

Marcus Rashford 

6-  Was relatively a frustrated figure but created a couple of chances for Joshua Zirkzee in the second half.

6 – Attempted to link up play in attack and was the closest to goal with a few attempts.

6- Relatively quiet but looked sharp on occasions and was keen to run at his man.

6- Amad was bright and looked to be creative and positive with the ball.

6- Was solid in defence when called upon with several headed clearances.

  1. Hey Ho. Looked quite promising for about 5 minutes. But ultimately we were awful. Casemiro cost us the first half almost single handedly. Zirkzee looked like a rabbit in headlights. No idea why Ten Haag thought it would be a good idea to start De Light in such a dangerous game. And what will the media say? It was all Rashford’s fault (despite his promising early runs and putting it on a plate for Zirkzee).
    Very frustrating 😞
