When Manuel Ugarte is poised to make United debut after club miss registration deadline

Erik ten Hag will have to wait a short while before he can have Manuel Ugarte at his disposal.

While Manchester United are yet to announce their fifth signing of the summer in the form of the Uruguayan, reports verified on Thursday that Ugarte had passed his medicals ahead of his £46 million switch from Paris Saint-Germain.

However, Samuel Luckhurst confirmed this afternoon that United have failed to register the midfielder in time to play against Liverpool on Sunday – not that they expected him to play a considerable role in the fixture, anyway, due to his lack of action across pre-season.

As well as that, Ugarte has been omitted from Luis Enrique’s squad for PSG’s opening matches of the campaign. It was thought that even if a deal wasn’t agreed with the Red Devils, he’d still complete a transfer away from the Parc des Princes before tonight’s deadline.

When Ugarte is likely to make United debut

The 23-year-old’s maiden outing will now be pushed back until after the international break, presumably when United travel to face Southampton in the early kick-off on September 14.

Ten Hag will be forced into at least one change this weekend after Mason Mount suffered yet another injury setback in the first half at the Amex.
