As it stands, it looks as though another loan is the most likely outcome, but this one would presumably include an obligation to buy rather than what United agreed with Borussia Dortmund last January.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea have just submitted their opening proposal to try and welcome Sancho to their overflowing dressing room at Stamford Bridge, with the 24-year-old ‘keen’ on making the move.
The finer details of their offer are yet to be revealed, though given how quickly negotiations advance on deadline day, you can’t imagine we’ll be waiting long.
With Sancho having already given his green light to the Blues, the ball is now in United’s court. A replacement would not need to be signed if he did depart, as Erik ten Hag is satisfied with his attacking options.
