Here we go: Romano confirms Jadon Sancho will join Chelsea on loan with obligation to buy deal

In what’s come as perhaps one of the most surprising twists of the transfer window for Manchester United fans, Jadon Sancho is set to join Chelsea.

Indeed, the 24-year-old wantaway had been linked with a host of clubs throughout the course of the summer, though only a few accelerated their interest by making an approach to the Red Devils.

The likes of Borussia Dortmund, while interested, were unable to meet United’s asking price nor match Sancho’s £250,000-a-week wages. Juventus had also been locked in negotiations as recently as last night until they concluded their pursuit due to differing valuations.

Yet, there’s only one club out there that’s willing to take almost anyone on board, and, as such, Sancho will be making the move to Stamford Bridge imminently.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed tonight that a deal has been reached between all parties, with the Blues agreeing to facilitate a loan with an obligation to buy.

Erik ten Hag had opted to omit the winger from his squad for United’s first two fixtures of the campaign, meaning his last Premier League appearance for the club came over a year ago.

He will leave United having notched 12 goals and six assists in 83 matches.
