Uruguay international Manuel Ugarte has passed his Manchester United medical, according to reports this morning.
After chasing Ugarte all summer, news emerged on Tuesday that United finally agreed with Paris Saint-Germain over the midfielder’s signing.
Ugarte will likely cost £42m plus a further £8m in add-ons.
PSG are also believed to have inserted a 10% sell-on clause.
On Wednesday morning, pictures surfaced of Ugarte and his representatives arriving at Carrington ahead of the transfer.
German reporter Florian Plettenberg has now provided an update to claim Ugarte has passed his medical and everything points to an announcement later today.
Ugarte is set to become United’s fifth signing of the summer.
The defensive midfielder joins a list of new signings consisting of Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
After making 37 appearances for PSG and falling out of favour under Luis Enrique, United spotted an opportunity in the market and it looks like he will be replacing Casemiro in the line-up.
It remains to be seen if Ugarte will be registered in time to feature against Liverpool on Sunday.
