The draw for the Carabao Cup third round has took place, with Manchester United set to host League One side Barnsley at Old Trafford.
United were among seven sides entering the Carabao Cup as the draw for the third round of the competition takes place.
Due to a new format in the Carabao Cup, United could not play Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa or Tottenham in the third round due to involvement in European competitions.
The seven clubs in question were drawn separately to the other 26 teams, simply to determine whether they’d be home or away in the next round of the competition.
United last played Barnsley in the League Cup back in 2009, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Danny Welbeck and Michael Owen.
