Former Watford striker Troy Deeney has shared his thoughts on the current Manchester United wingers and how Raheem Sterling could improve the team.
Every story associated with Manchester United leads to endless commentary within the media, and now we have Deeney weighing in on transfer targets.
This leads us to the Raheem Sterling links.
The Chelsea winger has been frozen out of the first-team at Stamford Bridge and his agents are looking for a move ahead of deadline day.
Talks have taken place between Sterling’s entourage and United, but a final decision has yet to be made.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Deeney gave his verdict on the current class of United wingers and how Sterling could have a positive impact on the squad.
Deeney said: “He’s better than anything they’ve got there, so yeah.”
He added: “At the moment he’s delivering more than what Marcus [Rashford] is doing. He probably gives more of a leadership role to the likes of [Alejandro] Garnacho and Amad [Diallo] who scored on the weekend.
“So those guys will look at Raheem, see that he’s won it at [Manchester] City, see what he’s done at Liverpool, see what he’s done at the international stage and think ‘right I can learn of that’.”
