Ferdi Kadioglu completes Premier League switch amid Manchester United links

Ferdi Kadioglu has been officially announced as a Brighton player after being linked with a move to Manchester United throughout the summer.

The Turkey international, who starred at Euro 2024 earlier this summer, was linked with a summer move to United but it was Brighton who ended up agreeing a deal to sign the defender.

Brighton signed Kadioglu from Fenerbahce for £25m plus £4.2m in add-ons, with the 24-year-old agreeing to sign a four-year contract to become Fabian Hurzeler’s eighth signing of the summer.

Kadioglu has played 200+ games for Fenerbahce, scoring 18 goals, and has been capped 20 times by his country as Turkey reached the quarter-finals in Germany in July.

He was greeted by the Brighton fans tonight ahead of their 4-0 win over Crawley Town in the Carabao Cup.

United switched their attention to Noussair Mazraoui, a right-back from Bayern Munich, as a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka who joined West Ham.

United haven’t been linked with many left-backs since then, despite having to play Diogo Dalot in the position while Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia nurse injuries.

Reports suggested that Chelsea had offered Ben Chilwell to United, but the Reds aren’t said to be keen on the England international, who has an equally worrying injury record to Shaw.

Let us know in the comments section if you think United should sign a left-back before the transfer deadline.
