Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is reportedly set to begin his battle to overturn a four-year doping van at the Court of Arbitration for Sport next week.
The 31-year-old, who cost United a world-record £89m transfer fee in 2016, was handed a lengthily ban after failing a drugs test last August.
Pogba was given a drugs test after Juventus’ 3-0 win over Udinese before NADO found elevated levels of testosterone in his system. A second sample was tested in October with the same results, which resulted in Pogba being slapped with a four-year ban from football.
The Mail reports that Pogba’s appeal will be heard by CAS next week just days after the midfielder was provided fresh hope that he could get back to playing football by reserving the career-destroying suspension.
Pogba has continuously denied the claims and insisted he was “heartbroken” by the verdict.
The Frenchman kicked up a stinker before he left United but this is proof that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Perhaps it serves him right for how he and his agent disrespected the club for years…
