Manchester United keep tabs on Brazilian ace; Wolves lead race for 23 y/o

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Fluminense midfielder Andre as a potential option in the transfer market.

The Reds are making progress in their pursuit to sign Manuel Ugarte, who has been left out of the PSG squad for a second week running, but Football Transfers claims the club remain keen on Andre.

After heavy links to Fulham earlier this summer, Andre is understood to be hopeful of a Premier League switch.

The report states United have made an approach for the Fluminense star, but fellow Premier League outfit Wolves are thought to be leading the race for Andre’s signature.

A deal would be worth somewhere between €25 million and €30 million, as per Football Transfers, and his parent club are open to a sale.

The 23-year-old has played 175 matches for Fluminense and he is under contract at the Maracana Stadium until December 2026.

Meanwhile, at Wolves, Gary O’Neil has a big task of working with the club’s tight transfer budget ahead of deadline day.

Andre is a defensive midfielder with a commanding presence in the engine room.
