Brazilian police have cleared Manchester United winger Antony of domestic violence towards his ex-girlfriend, according to reports.

The grey cloud has overshadowed Antony’s form on the pitch but there will be no excuses this season if he underperforms.

Antony, 24, was accused by his former partner Gabriela Cavallin of offending, assaulting and threatening her.

This led to the Sao Paulo police department, as well as police in the UK, conducting an investigation. The complaint was made over a year ago (May 2023).

According to Globo.com, as cited by the Daily Mail, police have found insufficient evidence of any wrongdoing on Antony’s part and have concluded their investigation.

Antony always denied any wrongdoing, while the investigation in the UK continues to take place, which means Antony isn’t completely over the hurdle just yet.

It’s a make or break season for the 24-year-old. He needs to show up or he’ll be pushed out.
