Manchester United star pictured at midnight with fans outside Old Trafford

Jonny Evans is a class act.

Not only is he a valued servant to Manchester United, the Northern Ireland international is a model professional and there’s a reason he is still playing at the highest level aged 36.

Evans came on as a late substitute in United’s 1-0 win over Fulham on Friday night.

The experienced centre-back replaced Harry Maguire, who appeared to suffer a slight knock as he held the lower region of his leg as he came off after an impressive display alongside Lisandro Martinez.

United won the game thanks to a goal from debutant Joshua Zirkzee, but they had to hold on to that lead in the dying minutes with Evans playing at centre-back with new signing Matthijs de Ligt.

Evans was pictured after the match – at midnight – by United We Stand editor and respected journalist Andy Mitten. He was taking time with fans who stayed around for autographs and selfies.

Evans played more football than he would have imagined last season, but tonight was proof that the manager is still willing to call upon the eldest member of his defence.
