‘Lost his way’ – Sky Sports pundit tells United fans not to get excited by De Ligt transfer

While I don’t know any Manchester United fans who care for Tim Sherwood’s opinion, I thought we would make an example of the bitter former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa manager.

During an incredible rant on Sky Sports, Sherwood warned United fans not to get excited over the club’s latest signing Matthijs de Ligt.

The Netherlands international joined United from Bayern Munich on Tuesday, along with Moroccan full-back Noussair Mazraoui.

However, Sherwood believes De Ligt has lost his way, and uses every other cliché in the book to belittle United’s latest recruit.

Speaking on Sky Sports, as seen in the video below, Sherwood said: “If I were a United fan I wouldn’t be jumping up and down with excitement…When he [De Ligt] was a younger player he was a very good prospect but he has gone to a big club and lost his way – he needs to find a rhythm again.

“Ten Hag needs to work with him. For that kind of money, you’d expect him to play but there is no guarantee because he has made some big money signings and they have sat on the bench next to him. I am sure the new hierarchy will say ‘we got him for you, you will need to bed him in’.”

For starters, Sherwood knows nothing about being a United fan. He’s always been bitter because we are the ones responsible for spoiling his childhood.

And it’s not like Erik ten Hag is going to feel forced to play De Ligt. This is a player the Dutchman requested the club to sign when he initially arrived as manager at Old Trafford.

Sherwood is only trying to add to the pressure that comes with playing for a club like United. If Spurs made this signing, he’d be waxing lyrical over the Netherlands centre-back.

  1. “You will need to bed him in.” Duh, no sh*t, Sherwood.
This fantastic wisdom is, of course, why TS is a top-class Manager, highly sought-after across the world.
And while I’m here having a small rant, a word on the Geyse Ferreira situation. Maybe inappropriate to comment here, but it’s been grinding my gears since I read about it.
People: stop falling over a stool that isn’t in your way.
Her sexuality is of no concern to you, and doesn’t affect you in any way. Stop spending your sad little lives looking for something you can pretend offends you, and
    MIND YOUR OWN DAMN BUSINESS.

    1. Speaking Of Women’s Soccer (Since You Provoked The Subject); Manchester United Should NEVER Had Integrated A Female Soccer Team At The Club!! The Religion, And Women’s Soccer, Both Had Been Doing Quite Well Before The Integration Of Female Soccer At Old Trafford!!

Now That Female Soccer Is At United, It Has Given A HUGE Platform For The “Social Warriorettes” To Talk About Their Sexuality!! Look, Arsenal Has Had One Of The, Maybe Even THE, Greatest Women’s Soccer Program In The World!! No One Heard, Or Even Cared, About Female Sexuality In The Decades It Has Been Operated There!! Only The Football Mattered ((Which By The Way, In My Opinion Was Better Played, Fundementally, Than Men’s Football – In Its More Pure Form)!! These Days, After Only A FEW, Very Few. Years, Of United Having A Female Team, The Club Has Been Publicly Embroiled In A Number Of Female Sexuality Issues, Instigated And Perpetuated By These “Social Warriorette” Types (Both Inside And Outside The Club)!!

It Is My Opinion That A Great Many Female Soccer Players Now Want To Talk More About Their Sexuality Rather Than Their Soccer!! As Such. I Hope Ratcliffe, By Diminishing The Role Of Women’s Soccer At United, Is On His Way To Divesting Manchester United Of Its Female Soccer Team!! All This Female Sexuality Crap Is Going To Overwhelm The Quite Beautiful Football That Women Do Play; The Players’ Sexuality Notwithstanding!! That Is Very Sad To, And For, Me!!

        1. Most Definitely!! Just Not Given To “Social Warrior” Virtue Signaling; Or Politics In Sports!! There Are Different Arena For All That!!

  2. TS is on point here though.
De Ligt was not only playing third but fourth fiddle behind Dier at Bayern…..
I would agree a lot that De Ligt has lost his way, he’s nowhere near the player he was whence he broke through at Ajax.
And Mazraoui is another weird one, worse than both AWB and Dalot….

  3. Not the player he was at Ajax and I can’t see Ten Bob going the whole Season as Coach,he’ll be sacked well before that. Harry McGrath is still a decent player too, Sir Jim should’ve changed Manager. I’m not sure signing ex Ajax,Eredivisie players is going to help United this Season.

  4. Not the player he was at Ajax and I can’t see Ten Bob going the whole Season as Manager, he’ll probably be sacked well before that.
Harry McGrath is still a decent player too,far better than De Ligt.

    1. Harry McGrath? If you don’t know the Players’ names, I don’t think you’re qualified to comment.
