Romano: ‘Wonderful’ midfielder has told United and one other English club that he’s uninterested in PL move

Manchester United have been made well aware of one target’s intentions after reports that they were leading the race for his signature.

Indeed, the Red Devils had seemingly accelerated their interest in Youssouf Fofana since the beginning of the week. Sky Sports Italy claimed that INEOS chiefs were preparing an ‘important’ offer, which was expected to fall in line with Monaco’s demands.

United were prompted to test their luck after talks between the Ligue 1 outfit and AC Milan had reached an impasse, with the latter failing in their attempts to get a deal over the line by lowballing in their bids.

Also in the race were West Ham United, as they continue scouring the market to bolster Julen Lopetegui as efficiently as possible ahead of his maiden campaign in the London Stadium dugout; yesterday, they confirmed the arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka on a seven-year deal after he spent five years and racked up 190 appearances at Old Trafford.

Fofana prepared to snub PL interest

Yet, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update this morning to dampen both English sides’ spirits, as he states that the ‘wonderful’ Fofana has made it ‘clear’ he only wants to join Milan this summer.

He is patiently waiting for Monaco to hash out an agreement with the Italian giants and is not entertaining the prospect of another transfer.
