Adrien Rabiot remains a free agent after leaving Juventus when his contract expired this summer.
The France international has been linked with multiple clubs, including Real Madrid and Manchester United.
We have reached the halfway point of the summer transfer window, but Rabiot’s future remains a mystery.
According to reports in Spain, Rabiot will be made to wait longer until he finds a new destination to continue his career.
Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have sounded out the possibility of signing Rabiot, but have ultimately ruled out going for the French midfielder, as per AS.
The same report states that the 29-year-old’s mother and agent, Veronique Rabiot, will decide the next step of her son’s career.
“I do speak to certain clubs, but then some media outlets attribute me to contacts with other clubs that I don’t speak to,” Veronique told Gazzetta dello Sport. “So I guess others speak for me. But since the beginning of Adrien’s career, I am the only interlocutor with the clubs. If a club has any interest, it has to speak to me directly.”
Juventus didn’t want to lose Rabiot and he turned down a new contact in Turin.
As a free agent, Rabiot (or his mum) is likely to want big wages and an excessive sign on fee. And I wouldn’t be surprised if that led Real Madrid to back away from their previous pursuit.
The same report suggests Rabiot has been in constant contact with clubs from the Premier League. It is said that Manchester United and Liverpool are holding informal talks to find out about his availability for a potential move.
Let us know in the comments section if you would take Rabiot at United this summer.
