Ligament injury comes at worst time for young Manchester United defender

The season hasn’t started yet but Manchester United have multiple injuries.

Injury concerns were rife last season and the new campaign is starting with the same trend.

The season’s curtain-raiser Community Shield takes place at Wembley on Saturday, with United taking on bitter-rivals Man City.

Unfortunately, the Reds go into the game with multiple injuries. Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund both saw their pre-season end in the first half against Arsenal, with three-month and six-week absences respectively.

Erik ten Hag confirmed that several players are doubts head of the Wembley meeting with City. They include Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof.

This means United go into the game against City with just two fit centre-backs. It’s a disastrous way to start the season and we hope to have more players available for the Premier League opener versus Fulham next week.

Will Fish’s injury disrupts loan opportunity

Another player who suffered a knock on tour is Will Fish, and the timing couldn’t be worse for the young centre-back.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Fish was told before the injury that he would be staying at the club this season to provide the cover needed following Yoro’s injury.

Fish would’ve jumped at such an opportunity if he didn’t suffer a setback during the pre-season tour.

The injury will keep Fish out of action for five weeks with torn ligaments and it’s thought that it will ruin any chance he had of gaining even more first team experience on loan.
