United now risk losing £30m man for nothing in 2025 as his wages prove too deer for clubs to consider summer approach

Manchester United are actively trying to shift several players who INEOS have deemed surplus to requirements this summer.

The likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof fall under such bracket, largely due to the fact that their contracts expire next year and because transfer chiefs believe they can be adequately replaced if the funds are available.

As for the fullback, he is perhaps the most likely Red to depart Old Trafford in the coming weeks. Not only are West Ham United actively pursuing a deal for Wan-Bissaka, but his exit would, in turn, pave the way for Erik ten Hag to reunite with first-choice target Noussair Mazraoui.

Lindelof poised to see out his contract at United

However, sanctioning a sale for Lindelof is proving considerably more difficult. While the Swede has garnered interest from potential suitors in Turkey and Italy, his £120,000-a-week wages are a significant stumbling block for the sides, per The Telegraph.

Lindelof, who signed for £30 million from Benfica back in 2017, does rank behind Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire and now new recruit Leny Yoro in the pecking order but will be well aware that an injury crisis akin to last season’s means he will be called upon regularly to fill the void of any sidelined counterparts.
