Despite all signs pointing towards the exit for Jadon Sancho at the beginning of the summer, he returned to Manchester United after burying the hatchet with Erik ten Hag.
Indeed, the two put their differences aside following last season’s notorious fallout, and Sancho has since enjoyed a promising pre-season tour of the United States; Ten Hag revealed after United’s final fixture that he may well utilise the winger in a false No.9 role in Rasmus Hojlund’s absence for the opening matches of the campaign.
That’s if Sancho is still at Old Trafford by then, though. Mail Sport provided an update late on Tuesday night, which confirmed that the Red Devils were ‘locked in talks’ with Paris Saint-Germain over a potential deal for the player.
The Englishman will be well aware that he is still not guaranteed a starting role next term. The emergence of young star Amad Diallo, plus the attacking depth consisting of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony means there’s little margin for error when Sancho is granted his chances. Should he fail to impress, he risks another season operating a rotational role.

PSG accelerate Sancho interest
Alas, it’s thought that he’d be open to a PSG move, with the Parc des Princes outfit still looking to fill their Kylian Mbappe-sized hole – and it’ll take more than one signing.
Simon Jones’ report adds that while Borussia Dortmund were priced out of a permanent transfer for the 24-year-old, that’s unlikely to be the case for the state-owned Parisians.
