Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been heavily linked with a transfer away from Manchester United this summer.
One club interested in signing the right-back is West Ham, although The Sun has learned that while the Hammers are willing to meet United’s £18 million valuation for Wan-Bissaka they cannot afford his wage demands.
In turn, the deal is reportedly at risk of collapsing.
It is understood that Wan-Bissaka’s representatives are pushing for United to give the player a chunk of the £18m fee they will receive from West Ham in order to get the deal done this summer.
Wan-Bissaka has earned £90,000-a-week at United since he joined the club from Crystal Palace five years ago.
West Ham are willing to increase Wan-Bissaka’s salary, too.
This means Julen Lopetegui wants a new right-back to provide competition to Czech Republic international Vladimir Coufal.
At Stretty News, we have reiterated Wan-Bissaka’s preference to return to London. West Ham are the only club – so far – willing to make that a reality.
With Wan-Bissaka aged 26, and having entered the last 12 months of his contract, United view this transfer window as the last chance to cash in on the former Palace defender. He could leave for free next year.
Inter Milan are also interested in Wan-Bissaka and a Premier League club have already offered Wan-Bissaka a chance to join them for free next summer.
