Manchester United provide Yoro injury update after successful surgery

Leny Yoro has returned to the UK following the US pre-season tour.

Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the United States started with the 18-year-old defender arriving as the latest major signing. It sadly ended prematurely for the French starlet due to a serious foot injury sustained in a friendly match against Arsenal.

Yoro was forced off the pitch after 35 minutes of action and he was pictured with crutches and wearing a protective boot before it was revealed that our new signing would be ruled for three months.

That means Yoro will miss the start of the season, which is a huge blow to Erik ten Hag’s plans for the upcoming campaign. After arriving from Lille, Yoro was set to partner Lisandro Martinez in the heart of defence. His injury is likely to force United back into the market for a new centre-back, amid links to Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite.

In the latest update on Yoro’s injury, United confirm that the centre-back has undergone suergy on his foot.

A club statement read via ManUtd.com: “Leny Yoro has today had a successful surgery on his foot injury.

“Yoro’s rehabilitation starts now and we look forward to the 18-year-old returning to fitness in around three months.”

What is with United and players getting injured? We’re incredibly unlucky.
